Local Organization MakeGood Spotlighted Nationally on CBS Mornings

MakeGood solves everyday problems with assistive equipment for disabled communities

NEW ORLEANS – MakeGood Inc., a New Orleans-based nonprofit organization, was featured on the national ‘CBS Mornings’ program today. CBS anchor David Begnaud traveled to New Orleans to document MakeGood creating a custom assistive device for a young disabled child, Sebastian.

MakeGood is a New Orleans-based nonprofit dedicated to providing innovative design and manufacturing to the disabled community. MakeGood is a resource locally and nationally for anyone who needs an assistive technology solution, utilizing the latest design tools and technology to deliver life-enhancing devices to people of all ages. MakeGood also provides licensed architectural design services to individuals and partner nonprofits.

In today’s segment, Sebastian and his family receive his custom-designed equipment that will help increase his mobility. MakeGood worked with Tulane University students to design and manufacture a ‘Toddler Mobility Trainer’ for Sebastian that provides him with new levels of independence. MakeGood founder Noam Platt worked directly with Sebastian’s family and his clinical team at Children’s Hospital of New Orleans to upgrade the design to suit his specific needs and support his continued development.

Since its founding in 2021, MakeGood has delivered over 300 assistive devices and impacted hundreds of students through its design and educational programs, and has been internationally recognized for excellence in assistive design and technology.
