LCMC Health Opens New Urgent Care Clinic in Uptown New Orleans

NEW ORLEANS – Dedicated to its commitment to meeting the healthcare needs of people in the New Orleans region, LCMC Health is proud to announce the opening of its newest urgent care location at 5800 Magazine Street, Suite A. The new LCMC Health Urgent Care Magazine Street location will begin seeing patients Monday, Feb.15.

In addition to delivering the highest level of accredited care for minor injuries and illnesses, the new clinic will provide direct access to LCMC Health physicians for patients needing follow-up care.  LCMC Health’s family of healthcare facilities includes Children’s Hospital New Orleans, East Jefferson General Hospital, New Orleans East Hospital, Touro, West Jefferson Medical Center, and University Medical Center.

“Our goal is to make urgent care services more accessible to better meet the needs of our patients,” says Greg Feirn, CEO, LCMC Health. “Together with our member hospitals, our newest urgent care clinic in Uptown New Orleans puts our health system firmly on the path of providing the right care, where and when our patients need it.”

The new clinic on Magazine Street is the seventh LCMC Health Urgent Care clinic in the Greater New Orleans area. Other LCMC Health Urgent Care locations can be found in Algiers, Clearview, Covington, Gretna, Lakeview, and Marrero. All LCMC Health Urgent Care clinics operate Monday-Friday 8 am-8 pm and Saturday/Sunday 8 am-5 pm. Each one offers no-appointment necessary, walk-in care for minor illnesses and injuries for patients ages three months and older. Conditions treated include:

  • Ear and eye infection
  • Fever
  • Minor cuts that may need stitches
  • Possible broken bones or simple fractures
  • Minor skin infections
  • Severe sore throat
  • Sprains and strains
  • Vomiting and diarrhea

LCMC Health Urgent Care accepts most major insurance and offers next-level convenience with options like online registration and bill-pay. Patients that check-in online using their home computer or mobile device will automatically receive texts counting them down to their scheduled arrival time. LCMC Health Urgent Care clinics also offer on-site rapid COVID-19, flu and strep testing. Results are available in minutes. As with all of its facilities, LCMC Health is committed to maintaining CDC recommended COVID-19 protocols.
