GiGi’s Playhouse New Orleans Kitchen Ribbon-Cutting

NEW ORLEANS — On September 13, 2022, from 3:00 pm to 4:30 pm, the Jefferson Parish Chamber of Commerce and GiGi’s Playhouse New Orleans Down Syndrome Achievement Center will host a ribbon-cutting celebration for the newly renovated kitchen which will be the site of the new GiGi’s Kitchen signature programs at 1023 Ridgewood Drive, Suite 2, Metairie, LA 70001.  The ribbon-cutting ceremony begins at 3:30 pm.

GiGi’s Kitchen is designed to teach the importance of health and wellness through nutrition education, kitchen safety, food preparation, and social activities for children, teens, and adults with Down syndrome. Under the guidance of program leaders, participants will engage in activities designed to promote healthy eating habits, kitchen safety awareness, food preparation skills, and social skills as they prepare and enjoy a shared meal/snack! As participants progress, GiGi’s Kitchen programs will include measurements, food handling, knife skills, ingredient identification, palette expansion, nutrition, and various cooking techniques.
