NEW ORLEANS – Evolve Coffee + Matcha, locally-based coffee and ceremonial grade matcha shop, opened in Lakeview on July 19. Situated on Harrison Ave., this is the second location from founder/owner Yvonne Pichoff and showcases high-quality imported ceremonial grade matcha, made from the youngest green tea leaves creating a very fine texture, bright green color and a subtle sweet taste. The menu also features sustainably sourced coffee and espresso, roasted in New Orleans through Mojo Coffee, a sweet and savory menu and a calming decor promoting mindful living.
Departing the investment banking field after nearly a decade, Pichoff pursued her passion and opened the first Evolve Coffee + Matcha location in Metairie in early 2020. Her creative leadership guided the shop through the pandemic, and now just three years later, the new Lakeview location is offering an even larger menu and seating.
“Our business model revolves around quality and community,” says Pichoff. “And we’ve inadvertently become known for our matcha because we offer the purest, highest grade of matcha, which is often known as ‘ceremonial grade’. We want to offer customers not only excellent service and a space to connect, but to serve a product that is arguably one of the best parts of their mornings: coffee and matcha. We’re grateful for our dedicated customers who see the value in supporting small businesses, keeping New Orleans local and culturally rich, and are thrilled to be a part of the Lakeview community.”
Evolve’s dedicated customer base has already shown excitement for the brand’s expansion. Pichoff shares that even some vendors and the muralist for the new space were all secured through friendly conversations with existing Evolve customers, and many new employees were former customers who wanted to be part of the Evolve team.
The new location, thoughtful yet approachable food and beverage menu, and focus on an inclusive community are sure to make Evolve Coffee + Matcha a neighborhood gem. Evolve Coffee + Matcha in Lakeview will open to the public on July 19 at 400 Harrison Ave. For more info, visit www.evolvecoffeenola.com and follow along on Instagram at @evolvecoffeenola.
