New Orleans African American Museum Joins Art for All Free Day

NEW ORLEANS – Louisiana residents can now enjoy free admission to the New Orleans African American Museum (NOAAM) every 3rd Saturday of the month, courtesy of The Helis Foundation (THF).

NOAAM, which celebrates the art, history and culture of African Americans in New Orleans and the African diaspora, is proud to participate in “Art for All,” a long-standing initiative by The Helis Foundation. Art for All provides Louisiana residents free access to leading cultural institutions including the Ogden Museum of Southern Art, New Orleans Museum of Art, New Orleans Botanical Garden, Contemporary Art Center and Louisiana Children’s Museum.

“We’re thrilled to partner with The Helis Foundation to make NOAAM accessible to more people through the Art for All program,” said Gia Hamilton, executive director and chief curator of NOAAM, in a statement. “Our museum offers immersive experiences that ensure every visitor leaves enriched.”

This collaboration underscores THF’s dedication to making art accessible to all Louisiana residents and its core belief that art is for everyone.

“We are excited to work with NOAAM to expand access to its inspiring collections and programming,” said David A. Kerstein, president of The Helis Foundation. “The Helis Foundation has been supporting NOAAM for many years, and we are excited to deepen our relationship. This collaboration aligns with our mission to make art more accessible for all while amplifying diverse voices and enriching the New Orleans community.”
