JEFFERSON – Greater Good Charities, Hill’s Pet Nutrition, and The Animal Rescue Site are joining NBCUniversal Local’s Clear The Shelters™ pet adoption campaign to help raise funds for registered animal welfare organizations across the country with weekly matching funds via ClearTheSheltersFund.org. The Clear The Shelters Fund is open for donations to many animal shelters and rescues across the country, including JPAWS.
“We want to make a difference for both the two and four legged residents of this parish, and the only way we can truly do that is by bridging the gap in veterinary services, and providing fully vetted adoptable pets to loving homes,” said Director of JPAWS Michelle Brignac. “JPAWS staff are committed to serving our community, and our aim is to help pet owners keep their pets by offering resources and solutions to hardships that may otherwise be an obstacle.”
Donations like the ones made through the Clear The Shelters Fund help animal welfare organizations properly take care of the pets in their care. During the first week of August, $25,000 in matching funds will be given away. Details for the additional matching funds will be provided weekly throughout the campaign. When donating to the Clear The Shelters Fund, donors have the option to cover transaction fees with their donation so that 100 percent goes directly to the shelter or rescue of their choice. This year’s donation page was built courtesy of Fundraise Up, an online donation platform that helps nonprofits grow revenue.
JPAWS is the largest government-operated open intake animal shelter in Louisiana, and has significantly reduced intake numbers by providing resources such as free/low-cost spay/neuter, low-cost rabies vaccines, free/low cost behavioral training, and large dog accepted housing options.
